The #RACHparty rages on.
On March 10, 2015, we released Rachmaninoff: All-night Vigil to worldwide critical acclaim, and the accolades started piling on. Debuting at #1 on the Billboard Traditional Classical chart (a first for our record label, CHANDOS) and #2 on the iTunes Classical chart, it was also the first-ever choral album to receive a First Play feature on iTunes Radio. It spent four consecutive weeks on the Billboard Classical chart (which includes cross-over classical artists, like The Piano Guys) and five consecutive weeks on the Billboard Traditional Classical chart. And it hit #1 on three Amazon sales charts, including Opera/Vocal, Chamber, and Classical.
Then came the reviews. Hi-Fi Critic's Colin Anderson praised the disc as "...ideally spacious yet focussed, superbly capturing [a] dedicated and deeply responsive performance." The Guardian, which give All-night Vigil a coveted five-star rating, said that our performance "has a devotional intensity that is often overwhelming." Fans weighed in as well: "I hope heaven sounds like this," and "Breathtaking. Delicious. Wonderful. The syllabic emphasis is perfect!" were a few memorable quotes from a slew of many.
To receive this overwhelmingly positive response and recognition from fans and critics alike fills us with a special kind of joy. We poured not only our voices but also our hearts and souls into this recording. And now the big moment is here – it's time for the GRAMMYs. Los Angeles, here we come!
