OUR VERY FIRST BLOG POST!
Greetings, friends and fans of The Kansas City Chorale, and welcome to our blog! So many exciting things have happened since Life and Breath: Choral Works of René Clausen won three (!) GRAMMY® Awards in February, and we want to keep you as informed about our performances, tours, and special events. You can expect fun and informative posts on topics such as choral repertoire, #Bruffyisms, music history, rehearsal antics and, of course, upcoming tours and concerts!
Because you can never have too much of the Chorale in your life.
We are fast approaching our final performance for the exciting 2012–2013 season – Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem in Helzberg Hall at the gorgeous Kauffman Center for Performing Arts. We’ll be joined by the talented Dr. Jan Kraybill on the Julia Irene Kauffman Casavant Organ, and we will perform Benjamin Britten’s “Rejoice in the Lamb” and Arvo Pärt’s “Beatitudes” in addition to the Duruflé. We are so looking forward to singing these works with the “king of instruments” in this incredible space!
Please join us in Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, May 24th at 8:00pm.
